In June of 2017, Mozambique was rocked by a series of gruesome and baffling deaths that defied easy explanation. Bald men were being targeted and murdered by someone who apparently viewed them as a source of gold — specifically, a killer who believed that gold could be found inside their heads.
Authorities discovered six bodies along the side of a road, each with shaved heads and arrows stuck into them. Beyond these grisly findings, more than ten additional victims of this horrific crime had vanished without a trace in recent months.
